I went to the Mirimar Air Show this weekend and thought I would share some of the photos, this is a F18 Super Hornet about to break the sound barrier, you can see the cone shaped shock wave, forming at the trailing edge of the wings.

    That is absolutely incredible! I never realized that a shock wave would be visible. This is a fantastic photograph.
