Truckers Hitch

The Truckers Hitch looks complicated, but once you try it a few times is should be one of the easier hitches to tie. To begin, pull a Bight over the top of the post. (note: I left the working end of the rope/cord short to make it easier to photograph, you will need a longer piece of working end to finish the hitch)

You get an "atta boy". You should show more of the basics, knot tying, knife sharpening, etc. Add some safety items. It will help all of our members.

The "truckers hitch is a very handy knot to know, but I have noticed with the introduction of ratchet tie downs the art of knot tying and the tactile feel of securing loads is disappearing.

I have invented a tie down product that helps people secure loads better and gives back the tactile feel of working with rope, its called the Tite-Tie.

Check out my web site at
