Bridgeport located along the 395 is about as far north as you can go and still be in LOCAL 477

Harry Carol (Pickle Meadows Marine Base). Near Bridgeport California in Mono county, we were only a few miles from Reno Nevada and still in our own local. It should have been Zone Z pay. The job got a late start at the tail end of October and when November hit, so did the snow. It was an El Nino year, so it snowed once a week.

Scott Collins (Pickle Meadows Marine Base) located off Highway 395. You would pray for snow because the air would warm up to 32 degrees. If you went to bed and there was no cloud cover, the air temperature in the morning would be -20 degrees. I had bought boots rated for -20, but I found out that this does not mean that your foot will be comfortable at -20, it meant that your feet would not snap off at the ankles when you walked. I also needed some of those nifty boot chains that clipped on to your boots. I would be gingerly walking down the road to the next building and WHOOSH I was on my back and my tools spread over the ice.
