Norberto and Joel "punching down" a data switch which in this case refers to an automatic device that connects data-processing machines to one another. There were 240 cables of Cat 5 with 4 pairs of wires each; that's 960 connections.

What a mess, and you thought your entertainment center was a rats nest, but at least it wasn't our mess. This is one of the data switches found next to one of the data switches we were installing.

Looking down the hallway on the eighth floor, this part of the hospital is only used for storage and hiding the electricians.

Joel and I found this in the electrical closet in the old building at Good Samaritan Hospital, obviously in the oldest wing. The newest thing in this power panel is the three red wire nuts. I like the "T" tap they made at the left. They just pulled a 250 through all the floors and tapped into the wire at each panel. When is the last time you saw cloth covered wire?

Performance Electric at Good Samaritan Hospital

Performance Electric is currently providing Good Samaritan Hospital with electrical and communication upgrades to various locations at the Hospital.

Good Samaritan was founded by Sister Mary Wood in 1885 with a nine-bed facility in Los Angeles California. With help from St. Paul's Episcopal Church and generous donation from a good samaritan "Mrs Mark Severance" in 1886 the hospital begins to grow along with the Los Angeles area. In 1911 the hospital moved to it's current location and in 1927 construction began to the wing shown in the photograph. Good Samaritan has the distinction of being the first hospital in history with the worlds first live birth from a frozen embryo. There as also some darker history involving the hospital: Shortly before midnight on June 4th 1972, Robert Kennedy was shot at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Senator Kennedy was rushed by ambulance first to the Central Receiving Hospital and then to the good Samaritan Hospital, where six neuro-surgeons labored more than three hours to remove a bullet from Robert Kennedy. For the next 24 hours, doctors fought to save Mr Kennedy but died in the early hours of June 6th.

The new Paseo Del Sol Community Services Building, located on Central Ave. Below the 60 freeway in Chino, California is nearing completion.

Performance Electric's "Helipad" project at the Prado Conservation Camp, is providing the forestry service with a new landing site for their water dropping helicopter. The site is located on Central Ave and Eucalyptus near the 60 fwy and the 71 expressway in Chino California. While not much to look at from the street, it replaces an area just to the north the department was using as a landing site. The two new landing areas are complete with FAA approved landing lights and room for fire fighting equipment and transportation vehicles used in fighting fires in the areas of Southern California.

Gilera is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded in Arcore in 1909 by Giuseppe Gilera. In 1969 the company was bought out by the Piaggio Group (maker of Vespa scooters).
In 1935 Gilera acquired rights to the Rondine four-cylinder engine. This formed the basis for Gileras racing machines nearly forty years. From the mid-thirties Gilera developed a range of four-stroke engine machines. The engines ranged from 100 to 500cc. The most famous of which was the 1939 Saturno.
After World War II, Gilera dominated Grand Prix motorcycle racing, winning the 500cc road racing world championship 6 times in 8 years. Facing a downturn in motorcycle sales due to the increase in the popularity of automobiles after the war, Gilera made a gentleman's agreement with the other Italian motorcycle makers to quit Grand Prix racing after the 1957 season as a cost cutting measure.
In 1992, Gilera made a return to the Grand Prix arena and Piaggio continues to produce small-displacement motorcycles with the Gilera name.

It's nice to be able to work for myself for a change. Collins Electric made a long trip from Sacramento to relocate warehouse lights, but thanks to a neat and well-organized shop, the job was finished on time, not to mention that they were pleasant to work for.
